About

I am a researcher, maker and artist who creates multidisciplinary minimalist work. I also design electronic circuits for most of my projects. Everything I make are one-offs, prototypes of experimental research. The main focus is on battery-free, non-stop moving objects. Leading is the emphasis on functionality, transparency and traceability of processes. Naturally, sustainability is paramount.

Leonardo da Vinci once said: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”.
This quote plays on the idea that being simple isn’t banal, it’s elegant.

For 4 years I started my research in the field of Ultra-Low Power (ulp) pulse motors. The first project was the Donut Motor on a 3V button cell as power supply. More motors and pendulums were made in 2020 and the technique became more refined. I started projects to run my u.l.p. devices non-stop on solar energy. No battery, only a supercapacitor is used as energy buffer. Now in 2023 soil batteries are also used to feed my u.l.p. devices. The soil battery endurance test is still on the go.
